NS - National Service? No Sense?
"Kena NS?"
"Did you get it?"
"How many in your class kena?"
"NS's OUT!"
"Check already ornot?"
*hears someone crying*
"She kena lar..."
"You lerr?"
"When's the full list coming out?"
"Real ornot?"
National Service.
That is said to bring honor, pride and joy,
to the people, their family and the country,
Three months,
of endless physical training,
knowledge compressing,
and stinking baths,
A must for those lucky 18 year-olds,
to fulfill their duties,
take the challenge,
meet the standards,
of a true Malaysian.
*crow flies ahead*
Haha... The first stanza for a Chorus Speaking, what do you say? lolx. National service (Here I go again... haha). HEY, it's NOT my fault everyone revolving around my earth nowadays starts talking about it. Yea, so what if the list is out? So what if you're in? So what if you're not? It's just another stinkin program the gov tries to waste money on.
Well, if you've been pick, go through it. If you've escaped, then roll down the stairs and start knocking your head as a sign of apreciation to the country for not picking you.
I really DO wonder why go for NS? I mean... what's the point? Go for NS so you would come back looking like some black monkey from south africa that swings from branches to branches, singing the national anthem on the top of your lungs while you head down to the grocery store for a bottle of milkshake? Or maybe to train you to wake up 4 o clock in the morning and start stomping around the house, whistling to wake your siblings, yelling commands, naming everything and everyone with code numbers, does a thousand push ups and sit ups and making everyone do the same before you head onto breakfast - which also comes in a packet because it's fast, handy, healthy and easy to pack away when you're on a deserted island, looking out for enemies...
okay, I've gone too far. Haha...
C'mon.
What's the point going for National Service? I really really really DO NOT see it. You waste 3 months time learning HISTORY and doing stupid Morning Runs and Exercise (which, they call training), then you RISK yourself being in dangerous situation like -gatting yourself raped or abused, then you can't BATH properly because there's no shower, just a big tub in the middle that every girl in the room shares, and you end up getting the polkadots desease on your body.
What is National Service for??? If it's like what Singapore's doing... 2 years for guys ONLY... then I understand the point. Let's say the country's in trouble and you need an army to defend the country, then these people can go back and help. That's what National Service is FOR right? But the kids going for training now are only going to live there for 3 stinkin months and they're free to go. What can you LEARN in 3 months? Jog around the field? PLUS, the gov actually gives you pocket money... so that you can learn something (what ever they mentioned) in those 3 months... What the heck?
So the big question: Am I PICKED for National Service?
According to the online checkings: NO
According to the actual list: Wait for my post next Wednesday.
