残酷世界 Shutting Down

I. have too much to say about that maybe I shouldn't put them in words anymore, because I don't know who would I offend, or hurt.

Hence, Jiaying's blog is currently shutting down for the moment.

Rest in peace.

Beijing - Day 13

Waking up at 9 o clock is fun. HAHAHAX. No kidding! Basically nothing much happened today...

I woke up and finished one question of harmonization... then went out to practice piano at YingMann... The bus was rather full with people squeezing here and there. It made a sudden halt and I tumbled over onto somebody else. Lolx. Scared the hell out of the person. Hahax...

Then after 4 hours, went to the school cantin and da pau, then took bus back home (Wow, I actually told my friends, "Bye, I'm going home." Lolx! Barely two days and I already take AikKhai's house as my "home" liao. HAHAHA... Then watched Tennis with AikKhai whilst eating dinner before I start practicing conducting and finishing my second question for harmonization. I still have one last question to do... decided to do it tomorrow morning since class is in the afternoon anyway.

That's it for today, AikKhai just went out to XinYao and his 师姐's place... so, I'm home alone again. Hehe.

Beijing - Day 12

I was supposed to have 视唱练耳 this morning with ShenHao... so I woke up at 8:45am and dragged myself to the bathroom. Just as I came out, my handphone rang... someone sms'ed. I muttered and hope it wasn't ShenHao calling to delay classes. Well, my hope was shattered... or even worst...

First SMS: Bring your harmonization homework to class
Reaction: HUH?! What the...
Reply SMS: But I haven't do my homework yet (I just had class yesterday evening for god's sake and there's so much to do you expect me to do it by this morning?!)

Second SMS: But we have questions that I haven't finish marking right?
Reaction: Sweat...
Reply SMS: But you asked me to re-check and I haven't even checked it myself.

Third SMS: Check it now!
Reaction: HUH?! What the...
(After approximately 15 minutes, eating breakfast mar)
Reply SMS: Sorry ShenHao, but I don't think I can make it... (For god's sake, our lesson's at 10:30 and I have to go out at 10... you expect me to do so much corrections in like? 20 minutes time?!) Can we do it another day instead?

Last SMS: Okay lar. We'll have double lessons on Tuesday.
Reaction: Sigh.

So... morning went in midst of harmonization. Lunch hour came, XinYao went out very early in the morning... crazy AikKhai decided to skip lunch and go swimming instead. (Double sweat drop... swim in winter? The pool is indoors larr... but still, the water's cold what. Mad fellow. Lolx. Very geng though.) So, lunch? Hehe... I cooked. 一锅熟!Dumped everything (sliced cabbage; egg; sliced chicken; rice; sesame oil; 酱油) into the rice cooker and "WALLA" done... very nice ge lerr. Wasn't expecting AikKhai to be back so soon, so I cooked for myself. Just when I was done washing and putting back everything, he walked through the door and sniffed.
AK: "Waa, you cooked ahh?! So geng?"
Me: "Eh? How you know?"
AK: "So wangi... of course I know lar. You cooked rice eh?"
Me: "O, ya lor."
AK: "Got somore?"
Me: "Huh? Finish liao lor... who ask you never order earlier?"
AK: "Cheh."
Lolx.

Afternoon and evening and partly night was spent away with harmonization, conducting practices, watching live badminton competition on TV and yea... basically that's it. There's no lesson tomorrow as well, but I'll have to finish up my harmonization homework + correction... then go out practice piano... my index finger feels much better already. Thanks to Nivea body lotion. Lolx.

Three person called the house today. First one was XinWan, who was looking for AikKhai... she called me "Jie ahh?" right after my hello and I replied, "Er, nope." only she realized I was JiaYing. Second one was XinYao's friend, who didn't even wanted to say who she was or what her name was, she too was surprised at the sound of a stranger in the "Pung"s household. Hahax. Third one was a Teacher from Singapore, looking for AikKhai, she was totally shock when I told her that I'm AikKhai's friend. LOLX. XinWan called again after that. Still no one home and it's way past 12 midnight. Whatever are they doing? I know AikKhai's probably eating 夜宵 after his practices. XinYao? *shrugs*

I'm going to bed soon, and if anyone of them doesn't have a key to come in, I don't care. Lolx.. no lar.. everyone has a key. Though the evil part of me wishes somebody forgets to bring their key out. HOHOHOHO... Shush. Later happen to me. CHoi Choi. Lolx. K, good night.

Beijing - Day 11

It's Saturday again. How nice... NOT. I woke up at an amazing 6:45am. Considering the time I slept last night (or rather, this morning... 2am). My harmonization class was fixed at 9:45am at ShenHao's place and I haven't finished my homework even after all the hard work last night, so I had to wake up extra early to do it.

Well, harmonization is well, harmonization. Chat with XinYao a little at breakfast and asked her the directions to the bus stop before she went out. When it's my turn to go out, I realized something "Hey, I have no key... how to lock the door?!" So I smsed AikKhai, who was still in bed and told him that I left the door unlocked. Well, the security is pretty tight around, and who would know you left the door unlocked on the outside? So I went out and took a morning walk to the bus stop, which happens to be rather near compared to the map XinYao drew (five minutes walk).

The moment I reached the bus stop, the bus 719 reached. I stepped upon it happily and paid for my ticket. Just as the bus started moving, my handphone rang. I thought it was AikKhai... but I was wrong. It was ShenHao. Oh Great. He had to call me at that time to tell me that he can't make the lesson at 9:45am and has to change it to 5pm. Sigh... Happy BusTrip.

I was thinking, maybe I go practice piano lar... But then YingMan was crowded and has no empty rooms until 12:00pm. GREAT. Now what? So I headed back home... good thing also, cuz I realized I forgot to bring my lesson's money. HoHoHo... Geng lerr... go for lesson dun need to bring money geh.

Reached "DaGuanYing" station and hopped off before I turned my back and started walking. After a while, I realized I was at the wrong direction cuz I didn't cross the road. Gah. Stupid me. Reached home with AikKhai laughing his head off at me for being such a dummy. We went out to duplicate a key for me before heading for the supermarket in search of the extra light u-shaped bulb to replace the old one in the bathroom. Couldn't find it, so he accompanied me back to try the key out, see whether if it's "usable". It is, works great for RM1. Lolx.

Around noon, I went out for my piano lesson at 琴房楼 with LeeChing. He comment that my playing was "not bad", but technically I'm not great. Sigh, I know. After that I went to buy some chocolate milk... can't help, wanted to drink it very badly. Lolx. Then it was piano practice time... I did go to the practice room, but I ended up doing harmonization instead cuz my index finger hurts.

Harmonization lesson was, well, harmonization lesson. I noticed that the lift to ShenHao's house don't really like me. On Thursday, someone was moving house and using the lift for so long, I had to climb 17 floors!! Then today, it stopped at the 5th floor and I had to WALK down!!! But I stopped at the 8th floor and found out that it was working again. Gah! The stairs were darn dark lar.

Reached home around 6 o' clock, watched the making of Narnia on TV, good thing is, it's in English! Ho! Hard to find. Lolx. Then it was bath time, and then work time. I practiced conducting... studied theory and sight read notes until approximately 11:30pm. Now I'm almost done blogging for two days... though I changed the date. Lolx. And I'm off to bed.

Beijing - Day 10

Wow! I've been here for TEN DAYS?! Lolx! I have NO lessons today! YAHOO ~~~~ !!! But that doesn't mean you don't have to practice! ~ sigh ~

Woke up this morning around 9 something and started working on my harmonization. Gosh... You see me type "harmonization" every day, aren't you sick of it? I'm SICK of it! After around two hours, I started packing my stuffs and cleaned up my hostel -room 525.

At 12 noon, XinYao's gonna come and bring me away from this hostel to her house.. and Aik Khai's house also, of course! So I hurrily stuffed everything nicely and neatly in my rosak luggage bag before dragging myself and the bag out of the room, unplugging the computer and checking out.

The hostel keeper returned my 100Yuan Key-Deposit after some while whilst I sat and waited for her to fiddle around boxes... she couldn't find the money that has the paper with my name on it, so she had to call the other hostel keeper and asked. In other words, it took her a long while before I can get my money back.

So I waited.
And waited.
And waited.
No images of XinYao.

The boys (DeXing & HuanBin) were busy cooking and preparing lunch, I watched them... lolx. Funny how DX cooked red beans with egg, he poured the red beans in before cracking the egg... so the dish ended up looking like some red-bean-mustard made for kids under 2 years old. Lolx. Everyone complained it was too hideous, so they made another dish to go with it. Hahahahax. Poor guy.

After everyone had lunch, XinYao still wasn't here and I looked like some dummy standing outside JunYi's room and also outside the kitchen and also in the corridor waiting for her. Finally at 1pm she called.
XinYao: JiaYing, why don't you go practice piano first?
JiaYing: (I did had the idea of wanting to practice piano, but I was waiting for you) Ohh...
XinYao: Cuz it's going to be troublesome if you come to and fro my place.
JiaYing: Err... Okay lar!
XinYao: So what time should I come?
JiaYing: Hrm... (Looks at watch) Around let's say... 5? (Just nice for a 3 hour practice)

So, 5 o' clock it is.

JunYi's been exceptionally kind to actually want to stay and offered (insisted) to help me carry my luggage. *raises eyebrow* So, I ended up watching "Swinging Bach" at DeXing and ZheTian's room. Boy it was good... Poor JunYi, lolx. He asked if I wanted to go lunch together, then I said yes... but I was too distracted by Bach, so I asked him to go makan himself. I think I kinda know why he's so nice to me... because I'm nice to him!!! :P Serious. Compared to the treatments the others are giving him. Lolx. But I'm nice to everybody lar... Me mar. (Oh no, getting perasan)

Piano practicing was, well, piano practicing.

At 5, XinYao and I met up at the hostel counter... DeXing followed us cuz AikKhai's cooking dinner. The others are coming later as well. JunYi wanted to follow but couldn't because he had to lead the way. Lolx. He helped carry my luggage all the way down, whilst DeXing carried my laptop and I carried my froggy bag. Huahahah... it's nice having guys around.

Dinner was good, AikKhai can really cook. I love my room... or rather, XinWan's room. To XinWan: Thanks for going back to Malaysia and lemme have your room! Muahaahaha... Worked hard on harmonization till late night (early morning... 2am) whilst helping Pui Mun with the lyrics on Scene Two, LittleNoise's Musical. =]

Beijing - Day 09

Surprised how time passes so quickly? I am. Preasure knocked on my door since the third day I arrived, but I didn't have time to sit down and chat with him cuz I was so busy with everything... but the more I do, the more I feel his pressence. Exams are coming, and I'm so NOT prepared. Every time I feel this way, I'll remember a quote from some where and someone who said it in some movie "Everyone is born unfair. It's just who has the courage to walk down this path." Then to prove that I have the courage, I'll toughen up. I really do find it very useful... I mean the quote.

Morning came and went in mist of harmonization and headaches where some times I couldn't even figure out a single chord or worst, a single note. Lunch was cantin food taken away and ate alone in my room.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow though, new place, new day, new life... I'm moving to XinYao and AikKhai's place cuz their sister XinWan is flying back to Malaysia. I was wondering if thinking of Malaysia makes me relax, but it proves not... because thinking of it means thinking of being there during March where there's theory exams and preparations for the university intakes in USA and my worst nightmare ... SPM. Well, what is, has been and always will be.

Went for my second harmonization lesson of the week and third since my arrival. The more I know harmonization, the more rules I learned, the more I despise and hate it. I really don't see the point of learning it, I try to convince myself that maybe it might be useful when you compose... like choral music. But c'mon, I don't write 16th century stuffs anymore. (I'd die of boredom listening to Bach... no offence big guy)My teacher gave me a funny comment: "You write well, just that you write too freely." I nodded and grinned whilst the thought "That's cuz I hate restrictions and rules and dont's and not's" crossed my mind.

Came back after one long two hour lesson and am exhausted, all my brain juice dried up, was long deciding whether to follow the "gang" out at night or not. But in the end decided it was best to stay in the hostel. Hahax. So, ended up in JunYi's room chatting for maybe two hours before I came back in and started working on Scene Two. Lolx. He's a funny guy with some really funny thoughts, he's well, let's say... learning to grow up. Don't get me wrong, I'm learning too... but maybe a little faster than he is. Lolx.

There goes my ninth day in Beijing and here comes number ten. Ten days down, fourty days to go before I return. And thirty days before exam. Hah.

Beijing - Day 08

Woke up around 9am today, decided to skip breakfast the moment I opened my eyes as the thought of bread and milo crossed my mind. After all, lunch would be at 11am anyway. I did mention in my earlier post that China people has this like totally HUGE appetite and they wake up REALLY early and sleep REALLY early therefore their meals are like REALLY early. So... Yea.

I had lunch with JunYi...actually went to the cantin to da pau back, but then met him there at the cantin and he asked me to teman him eat, so ended up eating at the cantin. After lunch, I went to TianTian Bookshop to walk on round before I head outside to the cold cold cold cold bright daylight of Beijing Central and took a bus to Xia's house for my conducting lesson.

The brilliant me, no doubt, had another GREAT adventure... by sitting too long on the bus and missing my actual station. Sigh. What is it that I cannot do? So... I had to go down and take another bus, 716, back to my teacher's place and ended up being late for around 30 minutes. I sms'ed Xia half way through my journey telling him I'll be late... and he replied:
"Hahahahaha... Nevermind, Take your time. I'm very free today, don't worry."
"Sweat drop." He's so cute for a tutor.

Conducting lesson is my best and most looked-forward lesson. =] He said my wrist and movements looked much better than the first time I came. I wanted to say "OF CUZ LA! I practice everytime I get!"

Hehe... Evening was spent on practicing the piano. I haven't called up Lee yet to make an appointment for my next lesson, I was thinking maybe Saturday. I need at least Friday off. Sigh, everything is so packed together, I wonder when will I fall into pieces.

There's harmonization lesson tomorrow and I'm ready to give up on harmonization again. Oh gosh, why on EARTH izzit so hard!!!
